Raven, a recently freed man from prison must confront the people who put him inside. However, revenge is not always the answer, redemption is.

Set in the not so distant dystopian future Raven Black (played by Mark Strange) is a man who is seeking revenge, set up on a job that went wrong and sent to prison, Raven lost his family while he was sitting rotting in jail. As the years go by Raven focuses on the day he gets out so he can seek his revenge against those he thought were closest to him, but little does he know what he will actually find is redemption.

Mark Strange as Raven Black

Firstly, stop me if you've heard this before, but this is Mark Strange's first lead role, I was shocked, lets get the man some more lead roles. Mark Strange is perfect as Raven Black put through a cycle of emotions and does a good job toning down his usual buffed up physic to show a more character based portrayal of a man on a path of redemption. Mark gets some great emotional beats in this film alongside some fantastic fight scenes, two that stand out being the one on one with Chris Jones (shoot him in the foot why don't you) and the knife fight in the Hallway with Nick 'The Blade' Khan which are fantastic.

James Bryan as Sanford

It might be Mark's show but Director Ranjeet S Marwa has brought his well established supporting cast in and there are some fine performances here with James Bryan as Sanford, a man Raven Black is close with but ultimately betrayed by, bringing some heart to what some may see as a villain but peeling the layers back he just wants to make it in this crazy world. Alongside David Lamont as Smoke who is slightly crazy and I love the nod and the wink to a bygone era as David draws on character actor inspiration to give Smoke a slightly unhinged feeling. O and Sean Cronin I don't want to say to much but if he thought he was going to survive this film, odds don't look good.

David Lamont as Smoke

Director Ranjeet has put together a film that has nods to Blade Runner 2049 but very much his own and a colour pallet to die for set in his hometown of Birmingham its a great setting for this Futuristic Martial Arts Blockbuster, a must for those that like Martial Arts Action ramped up to Ten its an adrenaline rush with a heart of gold.
