Life of Action Exclusive

Mike shared some insight on Robin Shou, exclusively for Eastern Film Fans:

“Audiences love Robin in the role of Liu Kang and there’s no doubt he totally owned that part. Anyone who grew up playing Mortal Kombat and enjoying the films will definitely make that association. But it’s fascinating that he worked on so many Hong Kong movies before that. I remember him kicking plenty of ass in City War, Fatal Termination and Tiger Cage 2, among others. In fact, he has some great stories on working with Ti Lung in City War! Then, his work on the documentary Red Trousers was exceptional. Bringing all those legends together (Sammo Hung, Lau Kar Leung etc) and telling their stories definitely inspired me when I embarked on writing Life of Action. He is an extremely talented filmmaker, as well as action actor, and I hope to see much more of this in the future. He is a real asset to the book.”
