Joe Cornet and Alexander Nevsky new Western collaboration Taken from Rio Bravo went over so well with international distributors at the recent Cannes Film Market that Cornet and Nevsky are now working on a triquel – Last Heroes of Rio Bravo!
ETA Films, Hollywood Storm, and San Rafael Productions have the second sequel to Gunfight at Rio Bravo on the fast track to start filming in September of 2023. Cornet will be directing, with the first film’s writer Craig Hamann (Showdown in Manila) returning to write the triquel as well.
Nevsky and Cornet will be reprising their acting roles, as will some other stars of their Rio Bravo franchise, including legendary Olivier Gruner (Nemesis) and Tatiana Neva (Executor). Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts (The Expendables) and Sara French (Bridge of the Doomed) are in talks to join the cast.

Douglas “Fini” Finical and Eric Brenner (Crazy Heart) will be executive producing the threequel , with Sean Murray (Call of Duty: Black Ops) creating the musical score and Art Camacho (Half Past Dead) handling the fight choreography and stunts. Sam Wilkinson (Paydirt) will return as Director of Photography. Premiere Entertainment Group represents Rio Bravo franchise worldwide.
Gunfight at Rio Bravo was released in the US by Shout! Studios in January and available on all the major Digital platforms. Taken from Rio Bravo was shot in Arizona last summer and is now in the final stages of post-production.
