Number 14: Rise of the Legend

Rise-of-the-Legend-Directed by Roy Chow and and stars Eddie Peng in the title role of the legendary Wong Fei-Hong ( you can catch Eddie in the great Dante Lam film Unbeatable)  in a film about his early years.  Rumour has it that none of than Sammo Hung will also play a part.  With big shoes to fill following on from Jet Li this film could be the beak out hit of the year. Look out for this in the second half of 2014.

Number 13:  The White Haired Witch of Lunar Kingdom

White-Haired-Witch-2014-s (1)Directed by Jacob Cheung and stars Fan Bingbing and Vincent Zhao the re-telling of the classic Wuxia novel and made famous by Brigitte Lin and Leslie Cheung in Ronny Yu's The Bride with White Hair.  With Tsui Hark on board as Artistic Director and this being another 3D film after the successful Flying Swords of Dragon Gate this could be one to watch. Due for release February 2014.

 

Number 12: The Assassin

The-Assassin-2014-sDirected by Hou Hsiao-Hsien and stars Shu Qi This much talked about Martial Arts epic centres around Shu Qi who is trained by a Taoist Nun to become an assassin and then asked to kill her lover.

The Assassin will be a wuxia film and filmed in China, Taiwan and Japan the film also stars Chang Chen and Satoshi Tsumabuki.  The film is defiantly a film that will both excite and be a visual treat.

 

Number 11: From Vegas to Macau

From-Vegas-to-Macau-2014-1Directed by Wong Jing and starring Chow Yun Fat and Nicholas Tse Chow brings us the return of the God of gamblers with a realse date of late January 2014 the film is produced by Andrew Lau and Dong Yu, and also stars Chapman To,  Annie Wu, Jing Tian, Kimmy Tong,  Benz Hui, Max Zhang and Philip Ng.

Number 10: Zombie Fight Club

zombie-fight-club-posterDirected by Joe Chien and stars Andy On and Phillip Ng this is the first of 2 films in the top 2014 films that stars these to up and coming action stars At the end of the century Zombies have taken over and a fight for survival takes place and a game of Zombie Fight club.  Could be a surprise hit!

 

 

 

Number 9: That Demon Within

ThatDemonWithinPoster-thumb-300xauto-38589Directed by Dante Lam and stars Nick Cheung and Daniel Wu who plays a paranoid cop convinced he’s the only one who can see the dangerous crimes Nick Cheung’s character is committing.  Expect balls to wall action in what's sure to be another Dante Lam hit.

 

 

 

Number 8: The Crossing

The-Crossing-2014-1Directed by John Woo and stars Zhang Ziyi, Huang Xiaoming, Song Hye-kyo and Takeshi Kaneshiro.  John Woo returns to the directors chair for the first time in 4 yeas to direct this 1949 set epic which follows three couples journey as they flee from China across to Taiwan.
