12. Fabricated City

I really REALLY wanted to put The Master with lee Byung-Hun but as it was released in December 2016 I've gone for this little film by Park Kwang-Hyun, where a brilliant gamer gets framed for murder and he must clear his name.  The action looks great and I think it may well open up a new generation of Korean film lovers.

11. Blade of The Immortal 

Takashi Miike is one of the hardest working directors out there and hes back with what could be a film that brings back some of his glory days with this manga based slice and dice feature.  Were fans of Miike and also worth a mention is  Jojo's Bizarre Adventure which is a series of comics again brought to life and directed by Miike, which sounds as bizarre as its title.

10. Jailbreak

A team of agents are sent to a prison to escort them out but what starts out as a routine job turns into a nightmare when the prisoners take over and all hell breaks loose.  Is this the film, much like the Indonesian The Raid, that puts Cambodia on the Action Film map, the signs look good.

9. The Sleep Curse

CATIII film is back with Herman Yau at  the helm and it wouldn't be a CAT III without Anthony Wong in the mix.   A story that starts in the 1940's that some 45 years later comes back to haunt the son who is a professor of sleep disorders.  Excited to see Anthony Wong under direction of Herman Yau again and in  a genre that we know there's still a huge following for.
