For Love's Sake a Third Windows Film OUT NOW

Director: Takashi Miike

Stars: Satoshi Tsumabuki , Emi Takei  and Sakura Ando

For Love's sake Brings Takashi Miike back to musical mayhem this time with a rift on  star crossed lovers and 'West Side Story' genre with musical brawls, song and dance ,will this film make you swing your pants?

The story is set and concluded with animated storytelling, the beginning tells us how Makoto (Satoshi Tsumabuki) and Ai Saotome (Emi Takei) first met and caused Makoto to become the scarred person he is today and how Ai believes that this incident is why she feels compelled to help Makoto.

Makoto is your classic rebel who would fight as soon as look at you and doesn't take kindly to being told what to do and when Ai rescues him from prison and finds a place for him in her private school, Makoto defies the laws and is soon expelled and sent to HanaZono.  This school is for the dregs of society and he soon locks horns with Gumk0 (Sakura Ando) who runs the school, or does she?

Ai soons becomes more than just a pain in Amakoto 's side but puts him and herself in real danger, can Makaoto keep brushing Ai's affections aside or will love blossom, O For Loves sake you'll just have to see !

Ok when you say Takashi Miike most people will think 'Audition, 'Ichi The Killer' O boy are you in for a treat, you like musicals right?  What you didn't know Takashi Miike also did musicals (check out The Happiness of the Katauris), O yes he does.  With musical numbers aplenty and fight scenes sung with gusto the blood runs red but not so much to detract you from the wonderful picture that explodes from the screen with bright vibrant colours with reds and oranges splashed across the screen like a decorators wet dream.

For all the plus points it does have a downside, if you don't like Musicals, your out of luck, its slightly on the lengthy side and a trim here or there to tighten the story wouldn't have gone a miss but I found 'For Loves Sake' a beautifully crafted diversion from my usual action orientated Martial Arts mayhem and if you fancy a surreal, quirky and offbeat film then I'd recommend some Takashi Miike Love, get it before he brings the red blood flowing once more.
